Associate Software Engineer

Job Summary:
We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven Associate (~2+ YoE) Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team at Teragonia. In this exciting role, you will have the unique opportunity to dive into a diverse range of software engineering tasks, including frontend and backend development, database management, automation using scripting languages, third-party API integration, crafting tests, creating build pipelines, designing and maintaining operational systems, and offering technical assistance to other internal teams.

Responsibilities:
- Engage in a diverse set of software engineering tasks as needed, which include:
- Design and implement UI/UX concepts using HTML, CSS, and Typescript.
- Develop frontend web applications utilizing popular frameworks such as Angular, React, or Svelte.
- Write backend web application code in Python or Node.js.
- Manage SQL and noSQL databases.
- Craft unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
- Establish build pipelines using Github Actions or similar tools.
- Investigate and prototype available products, tools, and APIs to enhance our offerings.
- Use scripting languages to automate routine tasks.
- Work with cloud-based systems such as virtual machines, containers, serverless compute/functions, and other cloud-based services.
- Live within commuting range of Chicago (if <3 YoE).
- Help handle highly exceptional incidents (loss of availability, security, etc.) during off-hours.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed from time to time due to the nature of Teragonia being a startup.

Instead, we’ll ask that you travel to our headquarters for important events, such as brainstorming and planning sessions or team-building events.
