Senior UI Engineer - Observability Products
The Observability Products group is responsible for developing a new and expanding suite of observability-related products at Fastly. We’re looking for an experienced, highly collaborative software engineer to join us as we bring a best-in-class observability experience to Fastly customers. As a part of this group, you’ll work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to design, evolve, and build the applications that leverage and derive valuable insights from the data available within the Fastly platform.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, maintain, and test web applications within the Observability product-line
- Work directly with stakeholders and our Product team to find and evaluate opportunities for new Observability products and features
- Design applications that can evolve as we move between different phases of the product lifecycle; from experiments and proof of concepts to stable, performant, and scalable products
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to craft systems that deliver best-in-class observability products to Fastly customers
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years developing and maintaining robust user experiences using JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
- Experience building & testing production applications with React or other JavaScript frameworks
- Experience surfacing and advocating for customer needs
- Solid understanding of the HTTP request/response cycle, UI development and web performance
- Experience collaborating across groups and functions, including Product and design teams
We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:
- Experience building products related to observability and/or low-latency data collection and analysis
- Data visualization experience in D3 or other open-source tools
- Experience working with React component libraries and design systems

This position will require you to be available during core business hours and evenings and weekends as needed for on-call support.

Relocation is not supported for this position.
Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $155,370 to $194,210.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
