Job Summary
Perform leadership duties to ensure all contributors are trained properly and working safe and efficiently.
Primary Duties
- Assist department supervisor in the safe & efficient operation of the department, participates in start of shift and mid-shift meetings, and occasionally fills in for the supervisor when necessary
- Ability to perform and fully understand all jobs within area, meeting productivity and accuracy standards
- Ensure daily requirements are met or exceeded by monitoring and tracking productivity of personnel
- Maintain accurate records for department
- As the frontline problem-solver, removes roadblocks for contributors in daily task
- Helps contributors understand ELS scores and provides tips and actions to improve them.
- Escalates complaints, concerns, and issues to supervisor
- Focus on continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the business
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Excellent performance and safety record
- No active warnings in file
- Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
- Must have general knowledge of the business
- Must be able to lead a group, experienced preferred
- Ability to assume leadership responsibilities and work with minimal supervision and follow written/verbal instructions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task
- Fork truck experience and Material Handler experience is a plus
- Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 45 pounds.
- Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience
