Job Summary

This Sr. Category Development Manager position is responsible for execution and strategic oversight of assigned categories (vending equipment, beverage equipment, millwork, etc.), including negotiation, budgeting, forecasting, aligning customer needs with program. This role is located in Charlotte, NC and will be coming into the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Responsibilities:
•    Participate in the financial planning and forecasting process.
•    Develop category sourcing strategy and recommendations in conjunction with key business partners.
•    Conduct industry analysis to provide proactive insight to develop a 3-year category strategy.
•    Partner with Sourcing team to support negotiating & executing preferred supplier contracts.
•    Provide ongoing trend analysis (business performance & drivers) to seize value-creating opportunities & corrective actions.
•    Research current state and future needs, analysis of market trends and potential suppliers, and identification of continuous improvement opportunities.
•    Responsible for development of comprehensive strategy reports
•    Identify, design & execute cost savings projects within assigned categories.
•    Manage supplier performance - escalation resolution management.
•    Create & deliver presentations with customer & competitive insights, recommendations.
•    Ownership of required internal processes including budgeting, contract attributes, benchmarking, pricing, product recommendations, etc. 

 

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain, category, finance, or related field; supplier management experience preferred.
•    Strong negotiations experience
•    Presentation Experience
•    Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills.
•    Ability to influence through direct and indirect teams.
•    Knowledge / Experience of budgets and forecasting
•    High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
•    Travel is up to 5% annually.
