About the role

What you will do 

  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot PLC code—primarily using Rockwell Automation platforms—to control machinery and processes in manufacturing environments. 
  • Design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems using Ignition Software to monitor, visualize, and control industrial operations in real time. 
  • Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using AutoCAD to support system design, installation, and maintenance. 

 

How you will do it 

  • Access and utilize Rockwell Studio 5000 and related tools for PLC programming and system integration. 
  • Use Ignition by Inductive Automation to build scalable SCADA applications, dashboards, and data logging systems. 
  • Draft and revise electrical prints and layout diagrams to ensure accurate and compliant system designs. 
  • Document project plans, create reports, and communicate effectively using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

What We Look For

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Machatronix and/or Software Engineering.
  • Duration: Summer 2026. Up to 40 hours per week. Part-time during the school year may be available.
  • Working Arrangements: On-site based at our manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH.

Our Toledo, Ohio fully integrated plant manufactures batteries used in

automotive and marine applications. This is our largest plant at Clarios. We

opened our facility in 1981 and now employ more than 610 people and operate

six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give

back through the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Cherry Street Mission and

Ronald McDonald House.
