The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
Department: Utility Accounting and Reporting
POSITION DETAILS:
Finance capital projects and storm recovery work related to invoice review and audits. In addition to the current incremental workload, we are always in need of help preparing journal entries, routine reporting, data requests, audit requests, assistance with closeout, etc.
Accountabilities:
Finance capital projects and storm recovery work related to invoice review and audits.
Examples of activities include:
- Preparing Journal Entries
- Routine Reporting
- Data Requests
- Audit Requests
- Assistance with Closeout
- Administrative tasks
Physical Location of Co-op: TECO Plaza 702 N. Franklin St. Tampa Fl. 33602
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours) OR Part – Time (30 – 40 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a Finance, Business, or an Accounting discipline.
Co-Op Requirements:
- To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters in Finance or Accounting.
Year in School: Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: MS Office (MS Excel)
