Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Maintenance Technician will perform general and preventive maintenance. In this role, you will focus on delivering customer solutions that promote and enable an efficient research system. You will also be responsible for technical manuals and protocols, general housekeeping.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to continuous evaluation and improvement of experimental methodology, daily routines and procedures.
- Maintain safe working conditions according to company safety program.
- Manage maintenance and infrastructure projects through hiring or instructing contractors and vendors, or by hands on repairs, inspections, problem resolution and installation of equipment.
- Participate in building and maintenance projects to provide the best cost results that meet timelines and project scope.
- Troubleshoot and repair meat processing equipment.
- Maintain the facility preventative maintenance program performing required repairs and inspections as needed.
- Contribute as a valuable maintenance resource for every team and function.
- Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Good technical knowledge around maintenance and controls troubleshooting and repair on manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with computer usage with emphasis on spreadsheet and data entry
- Able and willing to take off-hour calls
- Able/willing to lift up to 60 pounds as needed
- Ability to work on weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 years or more of experience performing maintenance on meat processing and packaging equipment (grinders, slicers, ovens, vacuum systems, sealing equipment and stuffers).
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment electrical controls
- Experience with research trials
