Purpose:
For Summer 2025, the McCombs School of Business is looking for a Teaching Assistant student employee to support Darren Smith. Summer Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA)) provides the Blair and Bubba Moffett Family Summer Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA) an intensive, in-person, 8-week summer program. The Teaching Assistant will assist with grading, providing feedback on future presentations, and taking attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Possess skills in evaluating oral presentations based on grading rubric
- Have knowledge of entrepreneurship and business plan development for a startup.
- A successful candidate will have an eye for detail regarding students’ work and course content.
- These courses are dynamic, experiential learning environments and, as such, require the ability to adjust at the last moment while ensuring clear and effective communication with students.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 3 credit hours for the summer semester.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Do not apply unless you have a business degree or experience being a TA for a business course (e.g., accounting, marketing, management, finance). MIS or IS alone is not sufficient.
Monthly Rate:
- $1,821.06
Working Conditions:
- Work performed in standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
Schedule Work Shift:
- 20 hours per week
- Position ends on 7/25/25
