Athletics Marketing Assistant (FWS/NFWS)

Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to assist the marketing department by working on the street team for on and off-site events. Assist with marketing promotions, strategic planning and group outreach.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
- Works both on and off-site events (i.e. game nights, special events including season ticket holder events, sports tournaments, partner appearances, festivals, etc.) in an effort to promote GCU Athletics.
- Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies, promotions and campaigns.
- Responsible for set-up and breakdown as well as distributing promotional items while interacting with fans.
- Various duties on game days including but not limited to managing group participation, distributing giveaways, assisting with game operations, manning inflatable interactive.
- Generate sales leads by interacting with people and collecting data.
- Assist with organization and maintenance of promotional item inventory for street team appearances.
- Represent GCU athletics and their sponsors in a positive manner, as many of the events that the team will work include direct involvement with key corporate partners.
- Helping assist with securing group attendance at home events.
- Administrative work as needed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Strategic and creative thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and the company as a whole.
- Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Knowledge and interest in GCU athletics, sports business and industry trends.
- Expected to work all home games & most offsite events.
- Flexible hours to include weekends, evenings, some holidays.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Bilingual a plus.

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following
eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
