Process Quality Engineer

- Perform a Gap analysis of customer technical specifications that affect how Emerson builds our products.
- Provide solutions for identified Gaps to our sales team that Emerson can execute.
- Liase with ETO to develop new and/or novel solutions.
- Facilitate where needed to execute solutions not currently supported by our business system.
- Serve as a resource for resolving technical customer concerns.
- Maintain and revise Welding Procedures and Performance Qualifications on a routine basis.
- Anticipate and resolve non-standard issues throughout the project cycle.
- Display a sense of leadership, anticipate issues, make timely decisions, corrections and adjustments.
- Assist the Quality Systems Specialist with Final Inspections when technical issues arise.
- Develop and Maintain Customer Facing Abridged Operating Procedures for our various processes.
- Work to develop best practices to more efficiently utilize Emerson resources and promote those practices within the global project/sales teams.
- Work with World Areas and Factories to address areas of conflict that go unresolved or may pose a threat to Emerson’s relationship with customers.
The Emerson Process Quality Engineer’s primary task is to ensure Emerson does not accept a customer order with technical contractual obligations that we do not understand or have a plan to resolve. The Process Quality Engineer collaborates closely with our Sales Teams from the Request for Proposal stage through Execution to ensure orders are booked cleanly, with the accurate Model Codes, Line Items, ETO’s and Written Deviations necessary to ensure the customer requirements are met at final inspection. The Process Quality Engineer is tech savvy, understands the customer’s requirements and the abilities of our Emerson factories and is an asset in supporting our global sales team and the factory technician when ambiguity arises as the order is built and during final inspection.
For This Role, You Will Need:- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Metallurgy
- Knowledge of Welding, NDT, Materials Testing and ETO processes
- Knowledge of Project Management tools and best practices.
- Firm knowledge of the Chemical and Oil & Gas industries, culture, structure, and products.
- Cross functional problem solving.
Experience with Welding Procedure Development, Qualifications and Welder Performance Qualifications.
Experience with NDT to include visual testing, dye penetrant testing and radiography.
Experience with ASME and ISO welding qualification standards.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification a bonus.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a bonus.
Flow Products, Mfg, Processes, Materials, Welding, NDT and ETO.
