POSITION SUMMARY:
This position serves as a program administrator for the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute (FCJEI). Program administrators are responsible for developing, coordinating, and facilitating leadership and professional development training for criminal justice executives across the state of Florida. Additionally, this position serves as the Advanced and Specialized Training Coordinator for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Standards and Training (CJSTC) certified Training Center, and ensures all training provided by the training center meets the requirements set forth by CJSTC Rules (Florida Administrative Code).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Serving as the Advanced and Specialized Coordinator for the FDLE Training Center;
- Assisting with the administration of all CJSTC courses to ensure compliance, conducting pre-audits and maintaining course files for CJSTC courses and entering all appropriate training and course information into ATMS;
- Planning, organizing, developing, and facilitating the Executive Leadership Seminar and independently establishing course offerings approved by management;
- Conducting periodic reviews of course curricula, instructional strategies, materials and training aids to assure currency and relevance to criminal justice executives and command staff;
- Independently implementing plans for course delivery such that all logistics, contractual obligations, administrative requirements, course format and content, course materials, and instructors are finalized prior to the beginning date of each course;
- Ensuring post-course administrative and fiscal requirements and paperwork are completed and properly submitted;
- Facilitating classroom discussions effectively, correlating all presented topics, evaluating all intersession assignments and instructing and mentoring participants in conducting research;
- Independently establishing course offerings approved by management;
- Independently ensuring that all course file documents are accurately and properly completed as required by, and in accordance with, Institute and other appropriate policies and procedures;
- Researching potential instructors for FCJEI training programs; and
- Serving as the primary administrator of FDLE’s Bureau of Professional Development web pages. Updating scheduling and training program information regularly. Conducting periodic website audits to ensure accuracy.
