Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer (Office Lead) to be based out of New Orleans, Louisiana to lead the water resources efforts of the area.
The Senior Water Resources Engineer (Office Lead) will support and lead projects for water in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and may also work on regional or national projects including planning, designing, and preparing plans related to water resources planning and infrastructure.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Technical oversight of design staff and team members for water resources projects including but not limited to floodplain modeling and mapping studies, LOMRs/CLOMRs, municipal water resources projects, and transportation drainage design.
- Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promotes AECOM’s capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
- Participates in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of AECOM's qualification/experience statements.
- Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
- Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
- Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff including workload and staffing management.
- Monitors and reports financial status of projects to technical managers.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience
- Three (3) or more years performing project management and/or business development.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Flexible, motivated, candidate who can maneuver internal and external clients and has desire to grow and identify new/different opportunities while also providing them to team members.
- Experience and familiarity with the following programs: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SRH-2D, xpSWMM, FHWA Toolbox, HY-8, ArcGIS, AutoDesk Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis / Pipe Networks or MicroStation Geopak Drainage
- Candidates must have proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
Additional Information
- Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Louisiana will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000.
