Position Summary
Are you enthusiastic about shaping the next generation of nursing students by advocating for their success? North Park University is looking for a Nursing Learning Resource Center Coordinator to assist students with mastering the material, including didactic and clinical learning concepts and patient care simulations. Collaborating with faculty, program directors, and staff, the NLRC Coordinator provides academic reinforcement to students throughout their program. In addition, the NLRC Coordinator supports clinical learning skills labs and simulation learning for students. This position is a direct report to the Director of Simulation Education. This is a full-time on-campus position. Works varied hours in-person Monday through Friday with the possibility of Saturdays, including some evenings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Demonstrates accurate knowledge of concepts assessed by the NCLEX-RN.
- Demonstrates competency in nursing practice.
- Supports instruction, remediation, and evaluation of didactic and clinical learning concepts.
- Demonstrates current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of SNHS nursing programs, academic policies, and regulations.
- Fosters a professional environment through effective communication and excellent student, faculty, and staff service.
- Communicates and documents students’ academic progress toward achievement of student and program learning outcomes related to skills and simulation learning experiences.
- Prepares and maintains skills lab and simulated patient care environments with equipment, supplies, media, computers, and materials needed to replicate a simulated healthcare setting.
- Inventory supplies and equipment.
- Collaborates with course faculty to ensure lab supplies and equipment preparation based on faculty requests and course schedules.
- Assisted in implementing detailed clinically based scenarios for the simulated learning experiences, including high-fidelity patient simulators and virtual reality simulations.
- Operates and maintains computerized and non-computerized simulators.
- Coordinates and supervises lab experiences to facilitate students meet course objectives.
- Provide individual oversight to students during practice and/or remediation of technical nursing skills as requested by course faculty.
- Participates in planning and scheduling learning spaces for students and faculty by ensuring open lab and structured lab utilization times are available, communicated, and appropriately resourced.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- BSN in nursing
- Illinois unencumbered RN license or eligible for
- Two years of acute care RN experience
- Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.
- Meticulous.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Be customer-friendly and hospitable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
Desired
- MSN preferred.
- Previous experience in Simulation and or Nursing Skill lab education
- Comfortable with using innovative technology.
