JOB SUMMARY
This position has enhanced leadership responsibility of multiple teams and oversight of revenue cycle operations. The primary purpose of the Director II is to implement strategic process improvements that enhance revenue cycle performance, optimize accounts receivable resolution, and strengthen client relationships. Comprehensive duties will include leveraging technology automation, and data-driven solutions to ensure client service level agreements (SLAs) and departmental objectives are consistently met. Additionally, the Director II provides guidance and direction to departmental teams, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous performance improvement. This role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive best practices in revenue cycle management. The Director II must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, mentor team members, and proactively address challenges that impact department efficiency and financial performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversees a larger scope of responsibilities compared to Director I, with additional teams and more complex revenue cycle processes.
- Develops and executes operational strategies to improve accounts receivable resolution, workflow efficiency, and key performance metrics.
- Monitors and analyzes outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring key performance indicators—including but not limited to days in AR, aging, collection rates, and denial resolution—consistently meet client SLAs and organizational standards.
- Establishes goals, expectations, and clear measurements to achieve optimal business results.
- Develops and refines written policies and procedures as changes and/or new procedures are implemented.
- Produces Visio diagrams to visually demonstrate department workflows that support the written policies and procedures.
- Identifies and leads process improvement initiatives through benchmarking, trend analysis, and best practice implementation.
- Proactively identifies areas for automation and system optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Formulates strategic, actionable plans to achieve department objectives.
- Introduces methodologies and process redesign to maintain quality service.
- Keeps abreast of all federal, state, and local regulations related to billing procedures, ensuring appropriate HIPAA and compliance guidelines are met.
- Recruits and develops a highly skilled, diverse work force through interviewing, training, monitoring, auditing, disciplining, coaching, and completing performance evaluations.
- Conducts consistent internal team meetings to discuss accounts receivable performance and strategy.
- Participates in higher-level external meetings with clients and other key business stakeholders including sales, site assessments and vendor demonstrations as needed.
- Acts as leadership spokesperson in the absence of the department’s Executive Management as needed.
- Maintains strong relationships with client base, providing proactive solutions to their issues and/or needs.
- Collaborates with internal teams to align revenue cycle strategies with broader organizational objectives.
- Monitors insurance carrier updates by attending conferences, reviewing carrier announcements and list serves. Communicates changes with appropriate parties and initiates updates related to policies/procedures, systems, and company education.
- Completes other related high-impact leadership duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
If direct report positions are listed below, the following responsibilities will be performed in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
