Western Colorado Pediatrics-Integrated Behavioral Health Clinician

 

 Job Summary:

Works with a diverse and multi-cultural client population in a variety of treatment approaches and/or settings. Ability to work as a member of the integrated behavioral health team to provide short-term treatment. Clinician works to address other social needs of patients and utilizes appropriate external or internal referral sources for specialty care, or advanced assessments and/or treatments.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • A working knowledge of individual, group, family, and crisis integrated treatment approaches and their application to patients with emotional and behavioral problems.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and collaborative manner with a care team in the primary care setting.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision with the Integrated Team.
  • Participating in staff and community meetings to help identify quality care indicators and outcome objectives and the collection and review of data.
  • Demonstrate a strengths-based approach to their work with providers and to their conceptualizations of children’s behavior.
  • Ability to facilitate mindfulness-based groups for topics such as: chronic pain, eating, patient empowerment, substance use/addiction, parenting groups.
  • Document and bill for Behavioral Health services in accordance with Colorado and company regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, and care coordinators with and as a Healthy Steps Specialist to work across the continuum of pediatric care.
  • Provide brief, empirically supported assessment, consultation, and treatment for patients and families.
  • Utilize short-term therapeutic approaches to improve medical and psychological outcomes for children and adolescents with chronic medical conditions and co-occurring psychosocial stressor/psychiatric diagnosis and their families. Common issues addressed include depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, parent stress and family function.

 

Work Experience:

Two (2) years of relevant experience with child and adolescent populations required.

 

Education

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.  Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Counselor or Licensed Marriage and/or Family Therapist

General Requirements: 

Experience using evidence-based treatments to treat multiple behavioral health disorders, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD preferred.  Registered play therapist preferred.

 

 

Qualifications

Work Experience:

Two (2) years of relevant experience with child and adolescent populations required.

 

Education

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.  Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Counselor or Licensed Marriage and/or Family Therapist
