The Role
Landsberg Orora Nashville is seeking an experienced Driver to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for driving gasoline or diesel power tractor trailer combinations, truck or van to: 1) transport 2) pick-up and 3) deliver products, or materials.
- Travel Requirement: 80-100% of Travel Required/Frequency
- FLSA Status: Non-exempt
What You’ll be Responsible For in this Role
- Drives trucks to various destinations approx. 15-20 stops daily
- Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage; ensuring safety is your number one priority
- Maintains truck log, per state and federal regulations
- Inspects truck equipment and suppliers such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water
- Drives vehicle to transport items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from several locations for shipment
Pickup/Delivery
- Maintains phone contact with supervisor and/or dispatch to receive pick-up and delivery instructions
- Prepares receipts for material delivered
- Collects payment for good delivered and for delivery charges when required
- Loads and unloads truck
- Unloads at customer’s facility
- Inspects product and checks accuracy of both product and quantities delivered
- Picks up product at customers and suppliers, checks product and quantities for accuracy
- Processes clear and accurate paperwork
- Has inspection authority to release product prior to delivery
Shipping and Receiving
- Operates auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks such as hydraulics, hoists, etc.
- Conveys material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas – using dedicated machinery
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks shelves, or bins per predetermined sequence such size, type, style, color or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items
- Marks materials with identifying information
- Records the amount of materials or items received or distributed
- Use computer to enter records
- Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Minimum of 2 years’ local city delivery experience required
- Class A license required
- Acceptable DMV report
- Forklift certified preferred but not required
