LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 37.5 Hours per week; Typical hours Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
PAY RANGE: $22.90 - $24.69 per hour
*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lab Technician position supports faculty and students by maintaining instructional lab and studio technology, supports student lab activities and simulations, troubleshoots technology, and provides access to equipment for students to use outside of the labs. This position will research technologies, coordinate department purchases, and be responsible for other department processes.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify instructional needs and create instructional guides to assist students in the use of equipment and applications.
Serve as a department liaison with IIT, Facilities, and Security to maintain an effective and safe learning environment.
Research new technologies to incorporate into programs and labs, working with faculty and vendors to align with industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in instructional computer labs and studios.
Assist other technicians with the design, development, testing, documentation, installation, configuration, and re-initialization of all lab and network facilities (hardware and software).
Maintain software licensing and installation location information. Request new/upgraded software as needed. Complete annual inventory audit of hardware and software including the tracking of equipment.
Maintain, reconcile and report Procard transactions. Provide access to technology for students to complete class projects, primarily checkout equipment. Responsible for properly working equipment, inventory, tagging and availability for check out. Ensure students are adhering to policies.
Maintain room and equipment usage schedules. Liaison for lab space requests. Responsible for daily security, proper usage and full functionality of department labs and studios.
Determine facility up-keep needed and communicate status of labs to appropriate staff.
Create, update and maintain Department intranet sites.
Maintain and inventory lab equipment and department supplies.
Move/lift classroom/lab equipment and/or furniture as needed.
