The Team

Our Emergency Departments at Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) and North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) deliver high-quality emergency care to communities across North-West Tasmania. Each site has its own identity, leadership, and patient flow, whilst continuing to work closely together, operating under shared nursing and medical governance, with a strong focus on teamwork, professional support, and safe, patient-centred care. The Northwest Emergency Departments are dynamic, high-energy environments where no two shifts are the same. Featuring dedicated resuscitation bays, acute and sub-acute care areas, a fast-track zone, and an ED short stay unit.

We’re passionate about supporting our nurses from day one, with a structured onboarding experience that includes a Transition to Emergency Nursing program designed to build confidence and capability in this fast-paced specialty. Strong academic partnerships with local and interstate universities provide exciting opportunities to further your professional development through postgraduate study.

This recruitment campaign is for experienced Emergency Department nurses, with successful applicants appointed to the Emergency Department service and allocated to either MCH or NWRH based on service requirements.
