Job Description

The Opportunity:

We, at Flywire, are seeking an Accounting Manager that will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. This person will assist in managing the monthly/quarterly close and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.

The Accounting Manager will report to and work closely with the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.

The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Assist with the management of the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and international accounting team to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Work with technical accounting to ensure new standards and complex transactions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Prepare or review detailed journal entries and account analyses.

Qualifications

Here’s What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance at an accredited university
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience (corporate accounting experience preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Certification such as CPA preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance at an accredited university 
  • Highly organized, inquisitive, resourceful, self-motivated and independent
  • Exceptionally detail oriented, disciplined, and hardworking
