The principal function of the position is to establish a collaborative network of K-12 schools and business/non-profit/government sites partnerships throughout the region, to implement all internships and field experiences for College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences (CESHS) students. All coordinating roles and functions related to field and clinical experiences will be the responsibility of this position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Work with CESHS faculty, advisors, and students to identify appropriate field experience and internship placement needs for every undergraduate student and select graduate students in the college.
• Complete all necessary documentation to secure field experience and internship placements for students each semester. This could include site-specific or school district placement request forms or MOUs.
• Coordinate the hiring and training of university internship supervisors and internship site mentors. Field questions or concerns from or regarding supervisors and mentors throughout each semester while students are in their placements.
• Coordinate student internship orientations and the internship application process each semester. Maintain internship handbooks. Be a resource for current and prospective students regarding internship requirements.
• Cultivate new and existing partnerships with K-12 schools and businesses, non-profits, or governmental sites to support CESHS field experience and internship programs. Serve as the primary liaison between partner sites and the university. In-person visits to new and existing partnership sites will be required.
• Assist with planning and execution of the college internship reception each fall and spring semester.
• Ensure accurate collection of all necessary field experience and internship data required by the college, university, state, and accrediting bodies.
• On a limited basis, attend and represent the college at recruitment and orientation events for enrolled or prospective students and their families, or at other events as directed.
• Bachelor's degree
• 5 years verifiable full-time professional experience
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with a wide variety of audiences
• Access to a personal vehicle for making partner site visits
• Master's degree
• Experience or education in Kinesiology, Sports Management, Education, or a related field
• Experience in a higher education setting
$55,000 - $60,000
