Job Overview

The role of Senior Manager, Pricing is a strategic one, responsible for shaping pricing strategies and priorities across multiple businesses, encompassing both stores and online. 

This position reports to the Director of Pricing and involves close collaboration to ensure the overall alignment of pricing strategies. The Senior Manager, Pricing professional plays a pivotal role in offering insights that guide pricing strategies, aiming to capitalize on business opportunities and enhance profitability across diverse business sectors. 

Operating at the intersection of various functions, the Senior Pricing Manager interfaces with multiple Divisional Merchandise Managers (DMMs) and business leaders within their assigned business area. An essential aspect of this role is the ability to establish trust and wield influence with merchants. Collaboration extends to partnering with teams in Marketing, Financial Planning, Technology, and Stores to guarantee a cohesive approach. 

Beyond driving sales and formulating future strategies, the Senior Pricing role encompasses a commitment to identifying and implementing process improvements for the broader pricing and merchant team. This holistic approach ensures efficiency and effectiveness in the pricing and business growth initiatives. 

What You Will Do

Utilize data analytics to generate valuable insights guiding pricing decisions.

  • Offer clear direction on pricing, encompassing customer-facing messages, considerations for price points versus percentage-off handles, and coupon inclusions/exclusions. 
  • Lead discussions on event architecture, covering aspects such as price clarity, breadth, depth, and special penetrations.  
  • Collaborate with financial planning teams both pre-season and in-season to address discount rates and permanent markdown needs. 
  • Work closely with merchant teams to provide insights for competitive pricing strategies, conducting both current and future positioning analyses. 
  • Contribute insights to discussions on Personalized Offers (PZO) and loyalty categories, one day only deals. 
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of execution through regular floor walks and store partnerships. 
  • Validate actual results against prior projections to assess the effectiveness of current pricing strategies and recommend refinements when needed.  
  • Actively participate in seasonal business strategy meetings with Divisional Merchandise Managers (DMMs), providing valuable insights to identify high-level opportunities. 
  • Assist in cleaning up coupon templates across events, ensuring customer clarity and efficiency in promotional activities. 
  • Support the development and implementation of dynamic pricing to increase usage and enhance recommendations. 
  • Share insights on process improvements related to current and future workflow. 
  • Track seasonal selling through C-1s, offering input on pricing strategies to ensure profitable product life cycles.  
  • Conduct a thorough review of business performance by channel and bucket, focusing on highlights and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Monitor pricing competitiveness, identifying items where price matching may not be profitable. 
  • Demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality in carrying out job responsibilities. 
  • Track inventory currency, identifying and addressing areas of opportunity for improvement.
