About the role
Meta is looking for an analytical Content Policy Manager with experience in policy, government, business operations, or law to join our Core Content Policy team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for our products that empower expression and foster a safe environment for people on Meta’s family of apps.
As a Content Policy team member, you will work closely with a number of other teams, including our Global Community Operations, Product, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy teams. You will play a key role in developing, applying, and communicating our Community Standards both internally and externally. You will also manage high-profile content escalations. At times, you will be expected to make difficult decisions, under pressure, about whether to allow or remove content. Many of these decisions will garner attention in the media and be the subject of intense debate in civil society and governments around the globe.
This Content Policy Manager will critically analyze and communicate the costs and benefits of refinements to policies and their implementation. Given the demands of content-related escalations, the candidate will sometimes be expected to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends.Content Policy Manager Responsibilities

- Help craft and implement content policies that take into consideration the needs of a global community
- Collaborate with Internal and External Stakeholders to drive policy improvements
- Act as a global escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues
- Help articulate policy philosophy, launches, and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal
- 6+ years work experience in policy, government, project management, law, or operations (graduate education may be counted)
- Demonstrated experience in translating technical terminology in order to drive understanding and buy-in from a varied range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Meta products and principles
- Experience in or with the technology industry
- Law degree, MBA, MPP or other advanced degree
