Job Description
Join AECOM's EHS+Air team as a Entry-Level Air Quality Engineer in Houston, TX!
Are you ready to advance your career and make a difference in environmental consulting? AECOM’s Air Quality team, part of our innovative Environment Business Line, is searching for a skilled and dedicated Entry-Level Air Quality Professional that is looking for a growth opportunity. As part of our team, you'll help drive environmental compliance across market sectors, working with federal, municipal, and private clients on air quality permitting and compliance.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and be responsible for the following:
In this role, you’ll support a variety of air quality permitting compliance projects, helping our clients meet their environmental goals safely, on time, and on budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and preparing air permit applications, including emissions calculations, air quality analyses, regulatory research, and technical documentation.
- Conducting comprehensive air emissions inventories and preparing applications for various permits (e.g., NSR, PSD, Title V).
- Collaborating with clients and regulatory bodies to ensure regulatory compliance and understand complex federal and Texas air quality regulations.
- Providing on-site permitting and compliance support as needed, directly contributing to client success.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental,chemical engineering or a related field plus 0 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in air quality compliance.
- Valid U.S Driver's license is required for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of relevant experience in air quality compliance.
- Proficiency in air quality compliance tasks such as emissions inventory and permit application preparation.
- Solid knowledge of EPA and Texas air quality regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply policies.
- Experience with project management tasks, including client communication, technical reporting, and project coordination.
- Prior experience in consulting and project management.
- Familiarity with air dispersion modeling.
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance.
