To reach a comprehensive impact, we work at the intersection of ship design, fuel lifecycle analysis, emissions modelling, and regulatory compliance. </span></p><p> </p><p><span lang="EN-US"><strong><u>Are you ready to help shape the future of sustainable maritime transport?</u></strong></span></p><p> </p><p><span lang="EN-US">We are looking for a <strong>dedicated and curious researcher</strong> to join our <strong>Maritime Research Team</strong>, focusing on either:</span></p><ul><li>Modeling maritime emissions, or</li><li>Vessel efficiency.</li></ul><p><span lang="EN-US">This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of <strong>science-based solutions</strong> that support the industry’s shift toward cleaner, more efficient operations.</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">You will be part of <strong>DNV’s Group Research and Development (GRD)</strong> at <strong>Høvik, Norway</strong>, working alongside a diverse team of experts exploring the future of maritime transport – from alternative fuels and propulsion technologies to digital tools and regulatory frameworks </span><span><span lang="EN-US">–</span></span><span lang="EN-US"> helping to guide both industry and policy toward sustainable outcomes.</span></p><p><span lang="EN-US">If you are passionate about maritime sustainability and want to make a real impact through applied research, we encourage you to apply.</span></p><p> </p><p><strong><u>Typical responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">Engage in research projects to build knowledge, competence, and insights into the costs, benefits, and risks of future decarbonization technologies, alternative fuels, and their value chains.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Develop standards, recommended practices, and associated tools for assessing emissions, fuel consumption, and vessel efficiency technologies.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Publish forecasts, scientific papers, non-technical reports, and professional presentations.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Initiate, design, and manage new research projects in partnership with academia and industry (e.g., EU, NFR, JIP).</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand industry needs and pilot solutions.</span></li></ul>

<p><span lang="EN-US"><strong><u>Your Qualifications and Expertise:</u></strong></span></p><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">MSc or PhD in environmental sciences, chemical engineering, marine technology, physical chemistry, statistics, or a related field</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Experience in one or more of the following areas:</span><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">Emissions from (maritime) transport: modeling or measurement of emissions to air and water, techno-economic analyses, life-cycle assessments (LCA), emission control, and abatement technologies</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Energy use onboard vessels: energy management systems, hybrid or alternative propulsion systems, fuel optimization through operational measures, energy efficiency technologies, or routing strategies</span></li></ul></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Insights into some as
