Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Sr Director – Cyber Security to define, lead, and operationalize a global security architecture tower spanning IT/OT, cloud, and emerging technologies for AI, robotics and automation closely aligned to organization highest priorities.
The role will serve as the design authority for enterprise security, responsible for establishing the vision, principles, and multi-year roadmap that reduces cyber risk while enabling digital transformation. This highly visible leader will be responsible for defining and driving the company’s cybersecurity architecture strategy, target-state roadmap, standards, and reference architectures to reduce risk and secure.
The successful candidate should be an experienced technology leader with a passion for cybersecurity and a demonstrated ability to build and develop a strong cyber team.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

· Define and maintain enterprise security architecture strategy.  Develop long-term vision aligned to business objectives, ensuring scalable, and resilient security capabilities.

· Establish secure-by-design AI and robotics architecture.  Define and enforce architectural standards that ensure AI models, robotic systems, and their supporting infrastructure are secure.

· Design and oversee security technology architecture.  Lead the design, integration and lifecycle management of security technologies across cloud, infrastructure, applications, OT and emerging technologies.

· Establish governance frameworks and security standards.  Create and enforce security policies, standards, reference architectures, and guardrails that guide engineering and business teams.

· Lead cross-functional security architecture programs.  Coordinate with program teams to embed security into enterprise initiatives and digital transformation programs.

· Guide investment and budget prioritization for security capabilities.  Advise on security technology investments, ensuring budget allocations align with architectural priorities and business risk.

· Represent the organization in external forums, vendor discussions, industry working groups, and standards bodies related to emerging technologies.

· Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends.  Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and threat trends to ensure enterprise architecture remains modern, resilient, and competitive.

Delivery and Execution

· Lead end-to-end delivery of security architecture initiatives, from scoping to deployment, ensuring on-time and on-budget.

· Partner with Engineering and Operations tower to support Business Application Services Engagements (BASE) and enbed secure-by-design principles.

· Translate strategy into executable roadmaps.  Incremental approach to multi-year strategy ensuring progress through actionable workstreams, milestones and deliverables.

· Produce reusable solution patterns and reference designs that become organization standards.

· Define and track architecture KPIs, metrics and reporting.  Create measurable indicators for architecture maturity, control adoption, risk reduction, and delivery performance.

· Drive lean execution and continuous improvement.  Implement lean practices, standard work, waste reduction, cycle-time optimization to accelerate secure design and improve customer service.

People and Support

· Build and lead a high-performing global team of security architects and domain experts, fostering innovation, accountability and continuous learning.

· Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating cyber risk into business-relevant insights and investment priorities.

· Partner across IT, OT and business functions to balance safety, quality, delivery and cost.

· Provide executive-level guidance and influence.  Advise senior technology and business leaders, translating complex architectural concepts into clear, actionable guidance.  Influence decision-making at CIO, CISO, and business-unit leadership levels.

· Provide coaching, training, and knowledge transfer.  Deliver structured guidance, training session, and architectural reviews to uplift technical teams.  Ensure teams understand key design tenets and architectural red lines for empowered decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in information systems (IS), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Engineering from an accredited college or university.

· Minimum 10 years of professional experienc
