Design Manager – Water & Wastewater Treatment
GHDAbout the role
The importance of water to the health of our world can’t be overstated.
As the frequency and intensity of floods, droughts and storms increases, the water industry must continue to build resiliency and lead from the front.
Together with our clients, we are thinking and doing things differently to help pre-empt and prepare for what's next. Be a part of this dynamic and committed team of diverse water specialists and drive change for your community.
You’ll be able to apply our powerful global network of skills and decades of experience to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented Design Manager to join the West Region Wastewater Treatment group, to be based out of Arizona or Southern California offices, to support work across the West Region (AZ, CA, WA, OR). Our group focuses on water and wastewater treatment, asset management, environmental health and safety, operations and program management for public and private clients across Arizona and the Southwest U.S. This is an opportunity to leverage your experience and knowledge and to be involved in challenging projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions as a subject matter expert.
In an ever changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.
We’re seeking the curious, those who are stimulated by fresh thinking and a desire to shape our communities in new, positive ways.
As part of a truly global team, working on complex and rewarding projects, you'll be at the forefront of driving change. See what the power of commitment can do for you.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Lead fellow professionals on a wide range of water and wastewater treatment engineering projects.
- Direct and oversee field work to evaluate project requirements, opportunities, and constraints.
- Lead the planning, design and construction oversight of water and wastewater treatment related infrastructure projects.
- Develop technical reports.
- Provide mentorship and development advice for technical staff.
- Lead or support technical proposal preparation efforts along with delivering client interviews.
- Interact with clients, suppliers, regulators, and stakeholders to help create successful concepts.
- Participate in asset management tasks for water and wastewater facilities.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, or Business, strongly preferred but not required.
- Registered Professional Engineer in any U.S. State, and the ability to obtain licensing in the state of Arizona, and/or California within 12 months of hire.
- 6+ years of engineering experience, or consulting experience
- Experience with hydraulics, utilities, water and wastewater treatment, and construction.
- Talented at managing time, handling priorities, and working in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently.
- Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
