Job Description

YOUR TASKS

This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime. It requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with the maintenance team to support the plant’s business goals.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair – Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility tire equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Preventative Maintenance – Conduct routine inspections, adjustments, and servicing of machinery to prevent breakdowns.
• Technical Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve issues with control devices, motors (110V-4160V AC), PLCs, relay/limit switch logic, and electronic control devices.
• Support & Collaboration – Assist the maintenance team in problem-solving, including emergency repairs and occasional night/weekend support.
• Safety & Compliance – Adhere to plant safety, environmental, and ESH policies while ensuring immediate response to hazards.
• Technical Knowledge Expansion – Continuously improve skills in electrical systems, PLC programming, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Work Documentation – Read and interpret work orders, manuals, and schematics to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
• Tool & Equipment Proficiency – Utilize hand tools, precision measuring devices, and diagnostic instruments for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Power & Lighting Systems – Maintain power transformers, lighting systems, and electrical infrastructure.
• Other Duties as Assigned – Support additional maintenance and operational tasks as required.

THE ENVIRONMENT

• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as steel toes, hearing protection, etc.
• The job is within a non-climate-controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise
• The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• Current Continental Tire Sumter maintenance technician with relevant maintenance experience in the mixing department
• 3+ years experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment
• Must be willing to work selected shift for this position
• This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT
