Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Contracts Specialist to join our team.

This position is an integral part of a team of customer facing contracts professionals which provides advice and expertise on moderately complex contractual matters.  This role will support the Hoist and Winch business within the Goodrich entity.

This person will be interacting with internal and external customers on a daily basis to provide excellent customer service and advise and represent the organization on contractual matters. This person will manage several proposals and negotiations for commercial and military programs and hold responsibility for the execution of contracts from award to closeout.

This is a dynamic, remote-working position supporting a significant value stream within the Avionics strategic business unit of Collins Aerospace with opportunities for exposure to senior levels of management and continued career development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drafts, generates, interprets and manages proposals and contract documents, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect business objectives.
  • Supports, with minimal guidance, the value stream leader in coordinating input from other organizations during the sales campaign process.
  • Oversees contracts analysis and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Manages small projects.
  • Advises and represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters.
  • Creates proposals, negotiates and executes contracts.
  • Provides advice on warranty and contract administration.
  • Prepares documentation for warranty claims and new contracts as needed.
  • Maintains historical legal records.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • Experience working with Government contracts
  • Capable of executing in a fast-paced, high impact/visible environment
  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • SAP working knowledge
