Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Program Management Teams are responsible for leading a cross functional team to deliver major customer programs within budget and time limitations in accordance with technical specifications and profit objectives. They manage customer programs (customized engineered solutions for particular end customer platforms) from bid preparation through production. Their duties include: developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements; assembling cross-functional program teams with members from engineering, procurement, sales, production, materials management and quality; serving as the main point of contact for the customer for all negotiations, decision making, scheduling issues, and problem solving throughout the program; monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; and arranging modifications as required.
Key Responsibilities
The Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) Business Unit is currently seeking a Program Manager as a part of the Business Strategy Transformation Office. TE Connectivity’s Program Manager is responsible for the management of cross-functional teams supporting cross functional, business critical projects. The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to ensure projects meet financial, schedule, performance, and customer expectations. The Program Manager is responsible for defining, planning and executing project schedules, budgets and measurement systems to ensure successful project management from initiation to close-out.
About the Role:
Responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver major customer, business, and transformation programs, typically consisting of multiple projects or sub-projects, within budget and time limitations, in accordance with technical specifications, and in fulfillment of financial and performance objectives. The incumbent will:
• Manage a strategic business program (e.g., product migrations, business integrations, and special projects aligned with the strategy deployment of the business unit and product group teams) from project initiation and planning through execution, control and close-out.
• Develop all aspects of strategic and transformation programs, including planning, budgeting, staffing, schedules, and performance metrics, and to meet contractual/project requirements, promoting the program throughout the organization and tracking utilization.
• Ensure that activities follow organizational policies, safety, quality and compliance requirements as well as external regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Monitor and report performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; arrange modifications as required and evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
• Assemble cross-functional program team with members from engineering, procurement, sales, production, materials management, quality, etc., serving as the main point of contact for the customer or program sponsor for all negotiations, decision making, scheduling issues, and problem solving throughout the program.
• May supervise the work of program or project staff to ensure that work is completed on time or in accordance with established standards or specifications.
• Provide reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders.
The Program Manager is also responsible for identifying resource constraints and program risks working with management for resolution of those constraints and proactive mitigation of program risks. The Program Manager is expected to adhere to a well-defined program governance and stage gate process to ensure program alignment to business objectives and adherence to all internal and external requirements.
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business, engineering, or another related field.
- 12+ years of related experience in Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Supply Chain & Operations or another related area.
- Proven experience in a large, matrix and global organization, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects to completion.
- Continuous Improvement mindset and prior experience implementing best practices. Experience leveraging standard playbooks and project excellence methodologies.
