Sr. Manager of DIBs Programs & Communities

Your Responsibilities:
Build Internal Movements
- Build and implement a roadmap for UPstanders, our internal DIBs Ambassador Program
- Design and operationalize a connectedness strategy to shepherd the impact of our Upwork Belonging Communities (UBCs)
- Enable, support and reward UBC Sponsors & Leads
Scale Program Development & Delivery
- Scale and nurture GlowUP and Our Place, our flagship community-building programs for leaders of color and our most senior Black women
- Sustain impact of external professional development programs for employees from marginalized communities
- Design, develop, facilitate and evaluate workshops, keynotes and forums on belonging, psychological safety and inclusion habits, in partnership with HRBPs and L&D
- Contribute to internal DIBs communications in collaboration with Internal Communications
- Participate in external DIBs-related events and advisory groups to understand trends and opportunities for Upwork
What it takes to catch our eye:
- Experience as a DEI learning or program specialist
- Experience mobilizing communities
- Demonstrated ability to develop trust and confidence with learners of all backgrounds
- Experience in project/program management
- Passion for both strategy building and being in the weeds of tactics and operations
- Ability to toggle between deep independent work and highly collaborative consensus building and implementation
- Experience leveraging talent data and insights to build cumulative DEI learning paths, plans and tracks to build knowledge and skills over time. You have also built DEI learning offsites and experiences.
- Strong facilitation skills, ease training large groups (150+), impulse to make space to answer thoughtful questions from learners and cultivate “aha” moments.
- Experience designing training rollout plans and partnering with vendors to develop and deliver DEI training.

The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $158,000 - $[175,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
