Certified Communications Officer - Full time - Night shift

Job Summary: 

Responsible for the protection of life and property in and around the Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center and all entities for the enforcement of hospital rules, regulations, and procedures. 

 

Essential Functions: 

Provides security with C.C.T.V. for the protection of patients, staff and visitors both in and outside of the buildings of all of Atrium Health Navicent entities. 

Handle the safekeeping of patient valuables consistently with hospital policies and procedures. 

Respond to phone calls and prepares necessary reports for documentation. 

Effective communication with all calls via telephone or radio traffic. 

Patrol inside and outside by use of the C.C.T.V. for the protection of all Atrium Health Navicent entities. 

Reports hazards, and security risks in both secured and unsecured areas. 

Performs duties monitoring infant alarm system, building and panic alarms, S2 door control access, fire alarm system, medical gas system, code blue emergency stations and dispatch officers and records information. 

Communicate with other law enforcement agencies. 

Operate Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) to obtain information on persons and/or vehicles. 

Performs general security duties enforcing Hospital Policies and Procedures. 

Capturing data and performing duties with the written and computer logbook. 

May have responsibility for badge creation and administration.

 

Education, Training, and Experience: 

High School Diploma or GED required.

Certification through P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standard Training). 

One year experience with radio communication device(s) (dispatch communication skills) and one year experience utilizing computer-based systems required. 

Valid Georgia driver’s license required.
