POSITION DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Department: Maintenance
Job Type: Full Time - 4th Shift Sat/Sun 12am-12pm and a 3rd day during the week (TBD)
Job Status: Hourly


General Scope of Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Electrician plays a critical role in ensuring reliable electrical systems, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. This position is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems that support plant operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on motors, drives, controls, PLCs, panels, and related equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with PFs, PTLs, CI, and other maintenance team members regarding electrical issues and solutions.
• Support electrical upgrades, equipment installations, and relocations as assigned.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineer and Maintenance Team Leader to ensure adequate electrical coverage across shifts.
• Maintain and document electrical work orders, ensuring timely completion.
• Partner with Maintenance Supply Specialist to ensure electrical spare parts and materials are available and ordered.
• Perform condition assessments and recommend repairs or replacements for electrical components.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced technicians on electrical systems and troubleshooting best practices.

Reporting Relationships:
Direct: Reports to Maintenance Team Leader


Qualifications & Skills:
• 4+ years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to electrical codes and company standards.
Education/Certifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to wear safety shoes, safety glasses and earplugs while in manufacturing area
• The ability to move freely around the workplace, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders as necessary to conduct safety inspections and address safety concerns in various areas of the facility.
