Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, provide support for social, economic or health related research; assist in investigating, gathering, assessing, and clarifying data; record and distribute information.


• Assist in data validation for NA-ACCORD, CNICS, and ART-CC. The focus is on
clinical data that are in the electronic medical record (Epic)
• Enter updates related to the activities of the Epi-Outcomes Unit of the
Tennessee Center for AIDS Research into REDcap
• Search for additional funding sources for EPI-Outcomes projects
• Assist with preparations for IRB submissions. This includes yearly study
updates and continuing reviews, and ensuring that the Key Study Personnel
for each study are up to date

The Department of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to enhancing the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through discovery and application of new knowledge that is integrated with the mentorship of trainees to become the next generation of national leaders in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collect and organize data from a variety of reference sources
• Prepare charts, graphs, and tables according to accepted research practices and preform preliminary analysis.
• Assist in investigating and gathering data
• Route questionnaires, record information and distribute results using established procedures
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing study participants and providing appropriate documentation for research.
• Update manual and/ or automated database file and maintain records
• Edit and/or type manuscripts according to accepted practices and assist in the preparation of materials for publication
• May supervise, plan and assign work for student assistants
• May assist in lab maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain inventory control and order supplies/equipment.

• Analysis (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates the ability to grasp and apply basic analysis concepts within the context of job assignments. Able to break a problem down into fundamental parts and arrive at reasonable conclusions.
• Clinical Research (Fundamental Awareness): Knows the primary resources available to accomplish the job. Can successfully research simple clinical questions pertaining to the functional area. Files and collates trial documentation and reports. Archives study documentation and correspondence. Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving.
• Data Collection (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates the ability to gather and interpret basic information for use within the context of current assignments.
