STV is seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years’ experience for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division in our Boston Office. Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited electrical engineering university and be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have strong oral and written communication skills and be capable of taking responsibility for the electrical work on multiple MEP projects within a hybrid setting in the office. Strong computer skills as well as skills with Revit, AutoCAD, energy modeling and load calculation software, specification/report writing, and proposal development are required.
Key responsibilities:
Will include taking the lead in the managing of staff, planning, including proposal and budget estimates, design and post design of electrical systems for all office facilities projects for a broad client base. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the Revit and Auto CAD design efforts for design standard development and project completion and assigning projects to electrical staff as required. Mentoring and management of the electrical engineers within the office will be a key measurement of success.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assisting in performing the following functions:
- Taking the lead in project QA/QC efforts
- Developing designs using Revit and/or Auto CAD for power, lighting and fire alarm systems
- Sizing and specifying electrical equipment and systems
- Performing electrical calculations using specialized engineering software for lighting, short-circuit analyses, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash analysis.
- Developing reports and specifications, utilizing Micro Office Suite
- Analyze field surveys and document existing field conditions
- Mentor and manage electrical staff
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 15 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering.
- Registration: Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts and be willing to obtain future PE licensure in other States.
Compensation Range:
