Job Summary

MycoWorks is seeking a well-qualified candidate to fill the role of Accounting Specialist. This is a key role in our growing Finance Team for the world’s very first commercial mycelium-based products, including Reishi - MycoWorks’ proprietary alternative material which lends itself to many applications which currently use animal leather. 

The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with other members of the Finance Team and key stakeholders to perform accounting activities to maintain fixed asset schedules, operating and finance leases, equity and debt schedules and month/quarter/year end close activities.

The position will report to the Accounting Manager.

The ideal candidate will be systems savvy, will have quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, ability to pay attention to detail, be a proactive problem solver and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders.

Location is flexible - ideally the candidate will be based in our plant in Union, South Carolina. Remote/Hybrid work model will be considered for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries
• Maintain the general ledger
• Perform Balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare account reconciliations and analyses
• Prepare month-end balance sheet schedules for fixed assets, operating and finance leases and equity/debt
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements, transfer pricing, consolidation, and remeasurement entries
• Support month/quarter/year end close

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce
• 1 - 2 years of  Accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge and familiarity with  MS Dynamics F&O
• Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with multiple stakeholders 
• Excellent problem-solving abilities in a collaborative, diverse and remote team setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain an excellent rapport with a diverse group of people and teams.
• Ability to prioritize and organize and be effective with simultaneous deadlines.
