Accountant

The Accountant I performs various accounting functions to support the Plant Finance Leadership with providing business details and reports as assigned. Supports Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable activities, month end activities, general ledger activities, capital plan, tax, and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions including all required documentation processing, bank transactions and reconciliations (including issuing checks and EFTs), problem solving, follow up reporting, data entry, monthly activities, journal entry processing and account reconciliations, and communication with relevant personnel.
• May support the fixed assets process which includes tracking and reconciling to general ledger and budget forecast, monitoring transactions, and tracking to approval.
• May work with intercompany transactions – monthly charges, reconciliation, intercompany sales, and netting of balances.
• May support Plant Finance Leadership with tax reporting and payment, SOD oversight and maintaining narratives and identifying issues.
• SAP maintenance as required specific to job duties.
• May support monthly reporting, One Stream, and support various adhoc projects as assigned.
• May support credit card management and oversee expense report process.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting
• CPA or CMA preferred; or
• equivalent combination of education and experience.
