The AstraZeneca Newark Supply Site in Newark, DE, was established in 1971 and currently employs approximately 260 people. Over the course of these years, Newark has undergone many product portfolio changes since it first began as Stuart Pharmaceuticals through today as the designated AZ North America Packaging Center of Excellence and a Flexible Formulation site for the global supply of complex products. Evening and Overnight Shifts.
Accountabilities:
As a Production Mechanic, you will be part of our growing team at the Newark Supply Site, contributing to delivering life-saving medications to patients across the globe. You will be responsible for multi-craft maintenance activities in assigned functional areas to ensure production and facility equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with FDA requirements. You will also have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement or equipment installation or modification.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum three (3) years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
- Must be able to work or be on-call as needed during other/off shifts and weekends when facility, production, or equipment maintenance coverage is needed.
- Completion of a state accredited Journeyman or technical school program, or equivalent formal education and field experience, demonstrating commensurate proficiency in at least 2 of the following areas: Mechanical maintenance of production equipment, Utility systems maintenance and repair, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Fabrication/Machine Shop
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- State accredited Journeyman
- Associate degree in a technical subject area, completion of a technical school program, or equivalent formal technical education.
- Demonstrated understanding and operational familiarity with software and PLC/HMI systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical cGMP maintenance practices
- Facilities and utilities equipment maintenance experience including: HVAC, boilers, air compressors, purified water, and electrical distribution systems
- Material Handling equipment maintenance experience including: automated cranes, conveyers, sorting systems, and forklifts
