IT Project Manager

OCT Consulting, LLC is an SBA-certified, 8(a) small business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.

Responsibilities and Duties

OCT Consulting currently has an opening for an experienced IT Project Manager/Task Lead to support a Federal government client. The responsibilities for the IT Project Manager/Task Lead include:

• Manages the project utilizing industry standard project management principles, standards, and documentation
• Generates project documentation including the Project Plan and Schedule, Communications Plan, Progress Reports, etc.
• Provides functional expertise in program management, IT modernization and acquisition and integrates performance across critical functional capabilities
• Leads a team and provides expertise in business assessment, requirements gathering and development of acquisition documentation
• Provides recommendations for process improvements or strategic changes
• Collaborates with geographically separated cross-functional teams from a remote environment to gather information and ensure alignment in documentation efforts
• Qualifications and Skills
• • 10+ years of project/program experience focused on IT modernization and acquisition
  • Prior experience with federal acquisitions and vendor assessments
  • Proven experience providing project/program support to a federal government agency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to convey complex information concisely
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and a capacity to coordinate collaboration efforts with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage client relationships as the primary point of contact and team supporting the project
  • Flexibility to adapt to contingencies resulting from changes or modifications to the schedule and assessment requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in presenting control requirements and deficiencies to both technical and non-technical audiences
  Education and Certifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required is required in technical, business or professional field
  • PMP certification (preferred)
