Position Overview
As a Senior Analyst, Transmission Development you will support the department with the development of New Mexico North Path, a high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission line that will deliver up to 4,000 megawatts of clean domestically produced energy from northeastern New Mexico to the Four Corners region, helping power New Mexico and other western states. This position will be based in either Denver (Colorado), Chicago (Illinois), or New Mexico (remote).
Responsibilities
- Advance existing transmission project developments within the southwest region of the United States, most immediately the New Mexico North Path project
- Work with numerous partners along the entirety of the route, including agricultural communities, Native American tribal governments, various state and federal government agencies, and manage all of their unique needs and requirements
- Create documents and presentations
- Prepare budgets, meeting agenda’s and taking notes in Strategy and Departmental meetings
- Effective handling of confidential data and sensitive information.
- Track department key performance indicators and provide recommendations to improve metrics where applicable
- Identify opportunities to eliminate errors and implement process improvements
- Work with cross functional groups to gather and document process/system improvement requirements
- Utilize project management skills to develop and implement process and system improvements
- Understand and drive performance, with visibility to executive leadership which provides upward mobility opportunities in our fast-paced and growing organization
- Proactively and reactively use processes to solve problems and enhance business process efficiencies throughout the entire development department
- Secure site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements and other agreements with landowners.
- Coordinate landowner communication efforts.
- Assist with the obtaining of certain local, state and/or federal permits.
- Represent Invenergy Transmission LLC with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders.
- Manage tasks according to budgets and schedules, including coordinating internal and external technical support.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- 1+ years of work experience in energy/utilities sector, management consulting, banking, regulatory field, or corporate strategy/development
- Strong understanding of the development process of renewable energy projects
- Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills.
- Strong public speaking and personal skills
- Ability to write effective, concise reports
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Proficient in all MS Office software especially Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Excellent communication and strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Able to prioritize assignments, multi-task, and re-prioritize assignments as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with energy project development, real estate development, transmission and power project engineering are advantageous
- Familiarity with New Mexico including local Native American tribes
Salary Range
$70,000 - $84,000
