This APP should enjoy providing women’s health to patients as well as surgical services in an inpatient and outpatient setting. The APP primary responsibility will be first assisting the OBGYN as well as round on patients, working in office setting, provide quality care for patients in the hospital, and assist with consults, admissions and discharges in the ED and hospital.

We offer a full range of care, from annual pelvic and breast exams to treatment for urinary incontinence or reproductive issues. We also offer complete prenatal to post-partum care for expectant mothers and newborns in a comfortable and caring environment. Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried
Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday – Friday 7A-5P. These hours may vary due to the OR schedule.

Patient Population Focus: Inpatient, Outpatient, Operating Room/First Assist, Procedural Unit, Emergency Department Management/Consultation

Patient Population Age Range:  Adolescence to Menopause

Required Training and Experience

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.

• Physician Assistant

or

• APRN License Type/Certification:
• APRN must have Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Certification

Experience: At least 1 year of surgical first assist APP experience

Degree of Supervision: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

All certifications must be current and complete prior to start date:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.
