We’re looking for a well rounded software engineer to deliver end-to-end features in our core product, a mobile-responsive SaaS web application for learning with games, courses, intelligence streams, and a social network. You’ll be part of a small agile team, working collaboratively to identify and execute on the highest value features while ensuring standards of quality and coding best practices are not sacrificed. You’ll also work with our game engineers and courseware designers to ensure a smooth, seamless integration of the games and interactive courses into our platform.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who

• is an engineer with 8+ years of experience building web software in a professional setting
• loves Typescript or other strongly-typed languages, and knows how and when to use the advanced features of the type system
• has experience with SQL databases and / or ORMs
• is able to work collaboratively as a part of a small team while still being able to handle their work with a great deal of autonomy
• believes in the power of the Age of Lifelong Learning
• is interested in growing into a senior role within the company
• has the right to work in the United States
• lives in the Washington, DC metro area or is willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area

Duties and Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable Typescript / React / Remix code in a dynamic small team setting with minimal oversight
• Deliver end-to-end platform features in a professional setting, utilizing existing testing and CI / CD infrastructure
• Create beautiful, testable components based on Figma mocks, collaborate with our product designers on front-end requirements
• Take action on peer feedback and provide feedback on the work of your peer developers, encouraging best practices and clean code while remaining professional and courteous to others
• Create and update documentation as features are introduced and revised
