Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer!
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use the agreed implementation approaches to design, code, test, and document software features of medium-to-high complexity, using the right standards and tools.
- Select appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, and ensure they are applied effectively.
- Review the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
- Competently apply Composable Architecture principles and guide others to do so.
- Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered with mitigation of security threats as a core feature.
- Use a variety of prototyping methods and choose the most appropriate.
- Identify, locate, and fix faults.
- Mentor and work together with less experienced colleagues within a team.
- Offer recommendations on the best tools and methods to use.
- Manage and maintain software components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- 5+ years experience as a software engineer.
- Good experience with Composable Architecture principals, especially on an API first strategy.
- Good experience in working in an agile team using Scrum or Kanban.
- Excellent experience in one or more programming stack like Python, TypeScript (Node.js). Knowledge of other programming languages is a plus.
- Excellent experience in software version control using Git, good knowledge of collaboration in software development via Github.
- Excellent experience with developing RESTful APIs, especially with focus on deployment as AWS Lambda functions and via AWS API Gateway.
- Good experience in API specification & documentation with focus on OpenAPI and Swagger
- Good knowledge in using different database (both SQL and no-SQL) and integration technologies for software development with special focus on AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL and AWS Glue.
- Good knowledge in using and operating a test-driven development using testing frameworks and API Test methodologies.
- Good experience in developing streaming integration solutions, especially with focus on Amazon SQS, Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
