Aerospace Composite Center, LLCBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Mid-level, Senior or Lead) to join our team located in Hazelwood, MO!
Position Responsibilities:
Level 3
- Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under general direction.
Level 4
- Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities. Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Develops and implements corrective actions.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under minimal direction.
Level 5
- Advises others in the preparation of significant bids and proposals.
- Authors Quality plans for major programs.
- Advises suppliers and business partners in the development of their Quality plans to ensure the flowdown of requirements.
- Consults at the business unit level to develop Quality criteria for supplier selection.
- Oversees the development of methods, procedures and metrics to ensure quality standards and practices for large programs and derivatives.
- Leads verification reviews to ensure adequate surveillance to validate product and process Quality requirements.
- Develops new methods for conducting product and process validation.
- Represents Quality in design reviews of the inter-relationship of multiple systems.
- Advises on development of methods for testing and approval of products, processes, equipment and measurement systems to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Performs benchmarking of enterprise best practices. Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.
- Develops new applications for advanced statistical methods.
- Works under consultative direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- 3+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
- 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
- 3+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience with FAI
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation
