About the role

The National Account Manager – Dollar Channel, is responsible for directly managing and growing the strategic partnership between HARIBO and our Customers along with assigned broker selling partners supporting our Dollar channel of retail. The National Account Manager – Dollar Channel responsibilities include, but not limited to, achieving and/or exceeding projected key account sales, goals, partnering with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders, and developing accurate sales forecasts for the wholesale distribution of HARIBO of America products.

The ideal National Account Manager – Dollar Channel candidate will have at least 5+ years of strategic account sales experience in the CPG Consumer Packaged Goods industry,  prior experience selling into Dollar channel retailers and/or brokers, prior experience with Headquarter sales visits, a Bachelor’s Degree, experience managing trade spend, prior experience developing accurate sales forecasts, and experience with large geographic territories and/or national accounts. Additionally, the ideal candidate will currently reside in the eastern half of the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Own, manage, and develop strong customers relationships with the Dollar channel retail business and related broker partners – nation-wide
  • Lead, collaborate, and hold brokers accountable for plans within the Dollar channel, nation-wide
  • Lead process for managing trade spend in collaboration with Trade and Finance
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Demand Planning, Customer Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain
  • Regularly provide business updates and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Develop accurate rolling sales forecasts, assists with annual budget recommendations
  • Assist with negotiation of customer contracts when appropriate
  • Use data and metrics to maximize trade market share, sales, and profit
  • Leverage our brands and product mix to improve profitability and meet customer, shopper, and HARIBO targets

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of strategic account sales experience within the CPG, Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • 1+ years of experience specifically selling into Dollar channel customers and/or related brokers
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time with overnight stays
  • Prior experience developing sales forecasts
  • Experience managing trade spend – both working and non-working trade
  • Proficient working knowledge of customer and syndicated data tools such as IRI and/or Nielsen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with large geographic territories and/or national accounts
  • Experience with calling into / sales meetings with Headquarters of national retailers
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, passion to win, and demonstrated ability to work well with others
  • Prior experience selling Fast Moving Consumer Goods / FMCG, candy, confection, snaking items
  • Ideal candidate will currently reside in the Eastern half of the United States
