Job Description
The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) System Administrator 1 is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server infrastructure used to support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services for the NITE.
The candidate will work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers and workstations used throughout the enterprise. Additional duties include performing Microsoft Windows server administration, create/modify DHCP reservations, patching and configuring systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Individual must be able to work independently and work within a team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Administer and maintain client and server systems across the NITE environment
• Apply cybersecurity best practices in compliance with DoD STIG protocols
• Configure and patch Microsoft Windows servers and workstations
• Maintain system performance, manage mass storage, and monitor user access policies
• Collaborate with teams to evaluate tools, recommend upgrades, and support recovery processes
Minimum Qualifications
• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or
• High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Windows desktop operating systems experience desired
- RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired
- Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations
- Experience with VMware
- Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
- Technical troubleshooting skills preferred
- Ability to read and digest technical information
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
