Job Description Summary

The Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I) is seeking a Health Informatics Innovation Manager to manage research and innovation initiatives executed across the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Founded at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, PC3I is the nation’s first center working at the nexus of research and practice to create, test, and scale solutions to transform cancer care delivery. Our mission is to make cancer care better for patients, clinicians, and communities.

The Health Informatics Innovation Manager role contributes to the strategic development of PC3I’s portfolio by planning and implementing projects to develop, test, and scale new solutions to improve cancer care, with a particular focus on supporting projects with a strong informatics and/or data analytics component. Projects may come from a variety of sources, including from the federal government, private foundations, internal Penn sources, clinical partners, and others.

The Health Informatics Innovation Manager will join an interdisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, administrators, and technical personnel with deep experience in their fields. This is an ideal position for an individual seeking experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and exposure to cutting-edge research in cancer care innovation.

Required skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects, developing solutions to technical problems. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across the ecosystem of academic researchers, clinical providers, and local communities are essential. High accuracy, dependability, and attention to detail will be vital to success in the position.
