What you will do: 

 

  • ​​Lead a team and/or function to ensure efficient operations, including training and guiding the work of others  

  • ​Conducts tests on samples such as soil, water, plant tissues, fertilizers, and other agricultural products. This can include chemical, physical, and biological analyses  

  • ​Supervises lab assistants and/ or technicians to ensure efficient operations, including training and guiding the work of others  

  • ​Makes various chemical solutions and reagents necessary for testing procedures, ensuring they are prepared accurately and according to standardized methods  

  • ​Implements quality control procedures to ensure the reliability and accuracy of test results  

  • ​Accurately records and logs test results, observations, and other relevant data into SAP and MS Excel and prepares reports   

  • ​Collects samples from the field or other sources and preparing them for analysis, which might include filtering, grinding, or sieving  

  • ​Operates and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment, such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, pH meters, and other specialized devices. This includes routine calibration and troubleshooting  

  • ​Adheres to all safety protocols and guidelines, handling hazardous materials safely, and ensuring the laboratory is a safe working environment. This includes proper waste disposal and spill response  

  • ​Keeps detailed records of all laboratory activities, including test procedures, results, and observations  

  • ​Provides guidance to Lab Assistants as needed​  

  • Other duties as required 

 

What you will bring:  

 

  • ​​An associate’s degree in chemistry, biology, agronomy, or a related field   

  • ​3-5 years of lab, research, or analytical work experience in agronomy or plant science  

  • ​​Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, sample preparation, analytical procedures, and instrumentation  

  • ​Understanding of plant, soil, or fertilizer analysis methods as relevant to agronomy
