Role & Responsibilities:
- Setup new tax accounts for clients in payroll, including agent access and deposit methods
- Communicate with tax agencies to obtain account information or resolve tax issues
- Process monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax fillings
- Process tax checks and electronic deposits
- Respond to client payroll tax questions
- Assist with maintaining taxes in the payroll system
- Preparing and filing amended tax returns
Requirements
To be a successful team member you should have strong attention to detail, an inquisitive nature and an interest in payroll tax compliance.
- 5-7 years of experience in payroll tax processing/similar position
- Robust knowledge of federal and state withholding and unemployment taxes
- Experience setting up tax accounts (preferred)
- Exceptional ability to identify and resolve inaccuracies
- Ability to manage and prioritize large volume of tasks
- Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to quarterly and year end work demands
- Passionate about providing excellent client service
- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Solid computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems
