Systems Integration Engineer, Efficiency and Performance

We are currently seeking a Systems Integration Engineer within the Efficiency, Performance and Systems group at Lucid Motors. As an engineer in this group, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and improve sources of vehicle efficiencies. Additionally, you will gain exposure to vehicle development, benchmarking and vehicle-level testing on a chassis dynamometer. This includes instrumenting vehicles, utilizing various data acquisition systems and contributing to efforts aimed at optimizing energy consumption and thermal comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative and innovative environment, including directly cooperating with powertrain, software, and testing teams, as well as lab/garage technicians.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and UI/UX teams to manage and implement changes for introduction of new parts/features, relevant to range, efficiency and thermal comfort.
- Couple the effects of different systems in a BEV including motor, gearbox, inverter, battery, charger, chassis, cooling, and controls.
- Contribute to test plans, data analysis and feature validation tests.
- Conduct benchmark testing for energy consumption and passenger thermal comfort related attributes on competitive vehicles.
- Be responsible for instrumenting vehicles with the necessary sensors to collect data for efficiency and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to think at a systems level to understand how one system might interact with another.
- Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong fundamentals of engineering principles.
- Passion for problem solving and a curiosity to learn.
- Interest in hands-on work on vehicles/testing systems/data acquisition systems.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in vehicle development as a professional or a student.
- Experience and knowledge of electric vehicles including batteries, drive units, motor control, power electronics, thermal systems, and vehicle communication networks
- A proven track record of technical excellence in a field relevant to this role.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with some experience or a master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
