Biomedical Intern

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking an intern to assist senior staff with research and analysis. ARA scientists are analyzing data from wearables and other sensors to predict injury, identify indicators of disease, and track treatment.

As an Intern, you will use your understanding of physiology, biomedical engineering, or a similar field to assist senior staff with a variety of research tasks related to human health and readiness. You will help evaluate the state of the science, technology, and/or market for applications of wearables or biosensors. You may assist in coordinating and conducting research studies, including preparing hardware and software. You may assist in data analysis and algorithm development. You may be required to occasionally assist with routine office tasks, such as ordering supplies, preparing shipments, printing reports, and maintaining resources. As an intern, you will have the chance to learn through close interactions with senior research scientists that will provide you with opportunities for technical exploration.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma and 3-4 years of experience.
  • Students who have completed their sophomore year of college/university and are entering their junior year meet this requirement. 
• College GPA of 3.0 or greater (out of 4.0).
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Per contractual requirements, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced classes in your field of study.
• Research experience.
• Experience with biometric sensors.
• Experience with data analysis.
• Experience with coding.
